Walking In The Will Of God

Yesterday we established that there are 3 dimensions of the will of God. There is His good-will, his acceptable will, and his perfect will. We also introduced what each of these wills represents. So beginning today, we will try to look at each of them in a bit more detail.

The good-will of God refers to His plan and purpose for all of mankind. This refers to those things the word has revealed to be His general will for everyone born into this world. And for the purpose of this teaching, I will cite just 2 of them.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Pet 3:9)

Have you ever wondered why God has seemingly been quiet about all the evil going on around the world? Do you sometimes wish God can just wave a magic wand and all the evil people around us will be eliminated? It’s not about whether or not God has the power to do so. It’s a question of what His will truly is.

The Bible reveals that God is longsuffering toward us (mankind). That is why He can patiently wait for anyone to receive the message of His love and come to repentance. In fact, no man has enough evil in him to make God write them off from salvation.

So one of the benefits of renewing your mind as a child of God is the fact that you soon begin to see God’s salvation plan for the world in even those who have sworn to be your enemies. You just know that God isn’t through with them yet and even go the extra mile to intercede for their salvation.

Beyond perishing in sin, God doesn’t want us perishing in other areas of life as well. He has nothing to gain from your suffering and failure, at least not after Jesus suffered for you. So now that you know His will, refuse to settle for anything less than what He already designed for you.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 1:2)

John the divine takes it further by describing God’s general good-will for mankind in his third epistle to the church. He declares that above all other things, God’s desire is that we may prosper and be in health!

This is God’s design for every one of us today. He derives more pleasure in our prosperity and well-being than we can ever imagine. That is why it would be out of place to assume that the same God may be responsible for your suffering all these years.

Some believers even make it worse by saying that God gave them a particular sickness, disease or condition to humble them and keep them righteous. Though this is not the service to clear that, I will have you know that God is not evil and doesn’t test people will evil.

Maybe you have only known disappointment and failure all your life. Now you can see that it wasn’t so designed of your heavenly Father. it was not in the original plan and script for your life for you to be sick or bedridden.

So now that you know God’s position on the matter, you can boldly take a stand against the condition knowing that God is with you on that. Instead of praying and saying “Father if it is your will, let this disease leave me” you say “I command this sickness to get out of my body in Jesus name”

Those who don’t know the will of God might think the second prayer is more braggadocios or something like that. But guess what? God prefers it when you pray in the second tone.

Remember that our role in prayer is to enforce His will on earth as it is in heaven. So let’s put this to practice right now. Is there anything that doesn’t fit the description of prospering and being in health in your life? it’s time to rearrange them now. Is there anyone

I pray for you today, that the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ will cause you to walk in the reality of His good will for your life. I refuse for you to suffer another day for what God already made available to you in Jesus name. I declare that above all things, you will prosper and be in health in Jesus mighty name. Every condition or circumstance that fits the description of “perishing” in your life, the word of the Lord is against you today so bow in Jesus name.
