You have probably heard them say that to be forewarned is to be forearmed. So it makes sense that throughout the scriptures, God has taken the time to notify us of the nature and character of the adversary. That way, we wouldn’t be taken unawares.

On one occasion, God addresses the devil as the accuser of the brethren and on another occasion, He addresses Him as the wicked.

“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Eph 6:16

Just to be clear, the wicked described in the scripture above is not your neighbor who has been behaving unfriendly lately but the devil himself!

In any case, there is nothing to worry about with the wicked because he is already a defeated foe. All we must do now is take our shield of faith; with which we will be able to quench, put out and bring to naught every fiery and dangerous dart of the devil.

Your faith is not only useful for getting God to do something for you. It is not only needed for effecting changes in your life. The scripture reveals that faith is the bullet-proof you need against all the possible bullets the devil has to offer.

By the way, faith in this context refers to a confident assurance of the reality of the things you may not see with your eyes but are revealed by the Word of God. So whenever the devil shoots a missile at you; no matter how real it may feel, your confident assurance in the provisions of God’s word against his fiery darts is your proof against that missile.

Surely the devil can come against you with all his strategies but guess what, they are all dead on arrival. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Heavenly Father I thank you for not leaving me in the dark about the fiery darts of the wicked one. Thank you for showing me how to use my faith and stay victorious every day. I declare that my faith is active and effective, shielding me against every missile of the evil directed at me in Jesus name.
